[Doxycycline+ Tretinoin Progress] My Secret Weapon! Well, it’s not a Secret Anymore!

The news is out, my secret in covering my discoloration is (Drumroll……..) Dermablend Smooth IndulgenceFoundation!!

It’s a medium coverage foundation for minor to moderate facial skin flaws. This product provides a good coverage for flawed skin. When I was going through my dermatitis flare up, this was my face saver. This product does a good job of covering up my discoloration that is caused by my post acne hyperpigmentation without clogging my pores; even though this product does not cover up the bumpiness texture of my skin (especially my bumpy dermatitis flare up), but it will camouflage the dark and red marks that are leftover by acne.

According to cosdna.com (a trusted reader’s report website that analyzes the ingredients of a cosmetic item), the only ingredient in the Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation that is comedogenic is Dimethicone. Dimethicone has a comedogenity of 1, and for some people Dimethicone breaks them out, but so far I feel like it hasn’t cause me to have any break outs yet.

However, this foundation makes me look…. Well there no other ways to say it, oily in the afternoon, I knida like the glow that it gives me, but at times it makes me look like I have enough oil on my face to fry an egg with (ok, maybe not that gross). But I can deal with blotting my face around 3 and pat some mineral powder on while I get my cup of afternoon coffee than dealing with a full face of zit.

Oh and by the way my shade is Sand Beige.

Overall I think Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation has kept my acne flare up without any irradiating ingredients while does a great job of covering up my imperfections.

As you can see, the following pic is what it looks like when its on me. Of course it can not camouflage the bumps but it can cover up the discoloration.

Pros

  • Great coverage
  • Sun protection included (but still need to wear sunscreen)
  • Dewy finish without powdery feeling
  • Long lasting up to 16 hours (when used with Setting Powder)
  • Non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic
  • Allergy tested
  • Fragrance free

Con

  • Could get too oily
  • Does not minimize pore size
  • A tad expensive but I think it’s worth it.

If you struggle with acne and hyperpigmentation discoloration or even facial dermatitis, I strongly suggest you to give this a go!
