[Doxycycline+ Tretinoin Progress] Day 5

Last night was my first night with Tretinoin, I felt my skin was a lot oilier when I woke up this morning, no major significant change except I feel my skin being a teeny tiny bit smoother looking.

The uneasy feeling of taking Doxycycline has significantly decreased as I am getting used to it.

My eczema seems to calmed down a lot more, I’ve taken allergy pills before I go to bed for two days. No red neck marks!

I’ve added calcium supplements into my diet; I have to make sure I don’t take it 2 hours before or after I take Doxycycline because it decreases the effectiveness of Doxycycline. I usually remember to take it during lunch time

Throughout the day I did not feel too oily, maybe its due to me wearing a primer along with a long wear foundation. Just got Paula’s Choice All Bases Covered Foundation SPF 25 because it has 0 Comedogenicity of 0 and only 1 for irritation. So I think I’m going to wear that tomorrow and see how my skin reacts to it. It supposed to be for Extra Sensitive Skin along with dry to very dry skin, which will come in handy when my skin gets super dry from Tretinoin. It has a SPF of 25, but I think I will still use my CeraVe am under it.

Here is my routine:
AM
CeraVe foaming wash
CeraVe am
Makeup

PM
CeraVe foaming wash
Wait for 20min
Tretinoin 0.04% mix with CeraVe moisturizing Cream [on Tretinoin days]
CeraVe moisturizing Cream [on the days that I am not using Tretinoin]
Vichy Thermal Spa Water [here and there]

[Doxycycline+ Tretinoin Progress] Happy New Year!! First day of Tretinoin 0.04% with Doxycycline

First of all, Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of Tretinoin 0.04%!!! I've chosen to SLOWLY integrating Tretinoin 0.04% into my routine tonight. Starting off with a pea size blob of Tretinoin 0.04% is going to be too harsh on the skin for me; therefore, I've chosen to mix Tretinoin 0.04% with CeraVe moisturizing cream. I took a little bit less of a pea size of Tretinoin 0.04% and mixed it with my CeraVe moisturizing cream and applied it on my skin while avoiding corners of my mouth, eyes, and nose. The reason of mixing is to slowly introduce Tretinoin into my routine is going to lessen the peeling and redness, purging process of my skin. (Fingers cross my skin won't freak out!) I am going to mix it with CeraVe moisturizing cream for two weeks, once a week on Wednesday and then see how my skin reacts to it.

So far I think Doxycycline has calmed my skin down a bit. However, my skin is really sensitive, any where that i scratch myself, it will leave a mark. So I am applying sunscreen not only on my face, but also my body. My Eczema seems to be coming back, I'm not sure if it is because of the Doxycycline or stress.

While applying Tretinoin, I have used Aquaphor all on and around my lips to make sure I don't get cracked lips corner like I did last time. I have also applied Tarte maracuja oil eye cream to make sure my blepharitis doesn't act up.

Here's to a new beginning and now hopes of clear skin in the near future!

[Doxycycline+ Tretinoin Progress] Doxycycline day 2

In the morning, my neck eczema rash was acting up so i rubbed some topicort on it... ugh.... I guess I gotta be a red neck :p

I feel like my sebums that are deep in my dermis has inflated a bit, not sure if it is because of Doxy or Its all mental. I do have flaking and drying up on a spot that was scabbing up though. Oh yeah and Im trying to cut out dairy too.

and yet I had another half a drink tonight. DONE

[Doxycycline+ Tretinoin Progress] Doxycycline day 1

Holy moly, I took my first pill of Doxycycline this morning with chicken and waffles along with 2 glasses full of water. At first swallowing the pill I can actually feel the pill traveling down to my esophagus and getting stuck mid track. The uneasy feeling of having a pill stuck in my stomach subsided an hour later. Its 1:30 and I still feel a tad uneasy in my stomach.

By night I've been feeling alot better. Went to get tacos and a margarita and I took my Doxy.... wrong decision.... even though "Drinking alcohol while taking doxycycline is not prohibited but doctors do not recommend it. Taking small amounts of alcohol while taking this antibiotic has no adverse effects but too much alcohol will certainly cause problems. " I still feel guilty

I felt my neck itching. So I realized that I was having an allergic reaction to my perfume... that I was using for 3 months now. Guess I gotta cut that out too. So far so good.
